UPDATE: Energy Emergency, Feb. 17, 2021
February 17, 2021
Southwest Power Pool spent much of Feb. 17 in Energy Emergency Level 2, calling for the public's conservation of electricity due to limitations on generation capability in a 14-state region.
At 1:15 pm, SPP went back to Energy Emergency Level 1, noting that generation was sufficient to serve system-wide demand across the region and to fully satisfy operating reserve requirements.
SPP continues to urge all homes and businesses throughout our 14-state region to conserve electricity, but are not directing any interruptions of service at this time.
